Hyperliquid Strategies Seeks US Futures Broker License to Offer Perpetual Futures

Hyperliquid Strategies, a treasury management firm for the Hyperliquid ecosystem, has applied to become a registered futures commission merchant (FCM) in the United States. If approved by regulators, the firm would be able to offer U.S. customers access to perpetual futures trading on Hyperliquid’s permissioned markets. The application signals a push to bring decentralized finance products into the regulated U.S. derivatives market. Hyperliquid is known for its high-performance Layer 1 blockchain and on-chain perpetuals exchange, which has gained traction among crypto traders. By securing an FCM license, Hyperliquid Strategies could bridge the gap between traditional finance compliance and crypto-native trading infrastructure. This move could expand Hyperliquid’s user base and liquidity, while giving American traders a compliant way to access its products. The approval process will involve scrutiny from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the National Futures Association. If successful, it may set a precedent for other DeFi platforms seeking U.S. regulatory approval.
