West Virginia Unveils Cryptid License Plates Featuring Mothman and Flatwoods Monster

West Virginia has launched a new specialty license plate series celebrating its most famous cryptids, including the Mothman, Flatwoods Monster, and Braxton County Monster. The plates, available to state residents through the DMV, cost $15 with an annual $10 renewal fee, with proceeds supporting the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources. The design features a dark, starry background with the cryptid silhouettes, making it an instant hit among enthusiasts. This initiative taps into the state's rich folklore and growing cryptid tourism, offering a unique way for drivers to show state pride. The plates are expected to boost revenue and attract attention beyond state borders, solidifying West Virginia's reputation as a cryptid hotspot. With such creative flair, other states may soon follow suit.
