Tesla Accused of Selling Full Self-Driving to Korean Owners Who Can't Legally Use It

A South Korean consumer group is urging regulators to stop Tesla from marketing its 'Full Self-Driving' (FSD) feature to customers whose vehicles cannot legally operate it in the country. Citizens United for Consumer Sovereignty plans to file a complaint with the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) on Thursday, according to Reuters. The group claims that 99% of Teslas sold in Korea last year are unable to use FSD due to local regulations, yet the company continues to sell the option. This comes just a week after a Seoul court dismissed a refund lawsuit from Korean owners who had paid for FSD but could not use it. The complaint highlights growing friction between Tesla's autonomous driving ambitions and national road safety laws, raising questions about consumer protection and advertising standards in emerging tech markets.
