Palantir AI Data Platform Unused or Little Used by 29 NHS Trusts Claimed to Benefit

More than two dozen NHS hospital trusts that England’s health service publicly lists as ‘realising benefits’ from Palantir’s £330m federated data platform (FDP) are not using all or most of the AI-powered technology, the Guardian can reveal. The 29 trusts said the system is not live or they are not using any of its applications, despite NHS England’s claim. One senior health official described the gap between the NHS claim and the trusts’ understanding as ‘very misleading’. The £330m contract with the US data analytics firm has drawn scrutiny over privacy and value for money. The revelation raises questions about the platform’s actual uptake and the accuracy of NHS England’s public statements. As the NHS pushes digital transformation, this discrepancy may fuel further debate over the controversial deal.
